REHEAPA - NEW MEMBER DRIVE!

Here’s an invitation to anyone interested in the literary achievement and life of Robert Ervin Howard to join The Robert-E-Howard: Electronic Amateur Press Association (REHEAPA).  As the world’s first (and only, as far as I’ve been able to discover) online APA, the "First Series" of archived articles has proven to be of value to REH scholars and researchers, featuring some excellent essays and general articles on a variety of Howardian topics.

The minimum contribution would be semi-annual, but the planned publication schedule is quarterly.  If you have a "e-zine" or "e-journal" in mind and would like to join the Second Series of REHEAPA activity, contact me at fcoffman@pobox.com .   I can also help with the "webification" of your journal or zine if you are not exactly an HTML expert or have not previously designed for the web before.

Consider answering our CALL FOR NEW MEMBERS.

Howard Days Approaching

I’m eagerly anticipating the 2008 Howard Days event in Cross Plains, Texas.  This year promises to be a great chance to meet new people, since it seems that several of the "old guard" won’t be making the journey.  That’s unfortunate in some ways, but it will help to facilitate discussions with new enthusiasts for the work of Robert E. Howard.

It sounds like several of the folks "met" online through discussion groups will be there to allow the connection of faces with names.  That’s a good thing too, since the voice over the aether and the internet persona is sometimes misleading.

The poetry reading event promises to be a great feature.

Best of all, most of my journey this year will be funded by my travel fund for "educational conference" travel from my college emoticon

Cross Plains, here I come.  Hope to meet some of you folks there and, of course, see old friends.
